Our History

Founded in 2016 by Thea, Sofia, Olivia Rasini, and Marina Clerici, our association is based at Castel Campo in Trentino – though our work extends far beyond local borders.

Our Team

Thea RasiniPresident and Co-founder
Italian-American with a background in Engineering and advanced studies in Child Protection, Thea turns every outing into a treasure hunt. Her other passion – outdoor community-building – has taken her worldwide with SeriousFun Children’s Network, Move Forward Haiti, and World Camp, as a coordinator and facilitator of educational, outdoor and science activities for children, adults and corporate groups. She’s also facilitated corporate training with Dynamo Academy in Italy and currently supports school programs. She proudly serves as Campo Base’s president.
Sofia RasiniVice-President and Co-founder
After (and during) her studies in anthropology at New York University and SOAS in London, Sofia travelled through Europe, Africa, South Asia and Latin America working with various non-profit organisations in the field of youth empowerment.

Following incredibly rewarding years with SeriousFun camps for children with serious illnesses, she co-founded Campo Base.
He firmly believes in the healing power of play and exploration to unite people across all backgrounds.

Olli RasiniSecretary and Co-founder
Olli is Italian, but grew up in the United States. She is a professional actress and holds a degree in Theatre Arts from Brown University in the USA. Since moving back to Italy in 2006, she has performed in numerous scripted and improvised shows. She also teaches improvisation with Teatro a Molla and uses it as a powerful tool for personal development, team building and group dynamics.
At Base Camp he brings a slightly crazy element of fun, but always with intentionality and depth, which helps to loosen, unite, make people laugh and discover.

Marina ClericiSecretary and Co-founder
Farmer and painter Marina single-handedly restored and manages a centuries-old organic farm at Castel Campo, producing grains and medicinal herbs. She advocates for humanity’s reconnection with nature’s web of life. At Campo Base, Marina manages everything that has to do with our operational headquarters, the thousand-year-old manor of Castel Campo, making it welcoming and accessible, alive and fascinating.
Martina Biondi Nurse, Nursing consultant
Martina is a nurse and has a master's degree in pediatric palliative care. In the past, Martina has worked in both public and private sectors – including as head nurse at Dynamo Camp. She now coordinates palliative care services for Alto Garda e Ledro district. Martina has the all-round well-being of the patients she looks after very much at heart, and with Campo Base she shares Campo Base’s vision of of social and psychological well-being as an integral part of health.
